Swell Body Copper Ewe Weathervane

$8,650.00 USD

Sheep weathervanes were common on barns in New England because the rocky terrain was conducive to sheep ranching.  This swell body copper weathervane is in the form of a female Merino sheep and likely dates to the first quarter of the 20th Century.  It is a large example measuring 28" long and 24 1/2" tall.

The condition is excellent with a desirable verdigris surface and no damage (bullet holes) and no repairs.  It is mounted on a custom museum stand.

The sheep form is less commonly found today, especially in this condition and size.

An estimated $150 is included to cover packing, shipping and insurance.
