Sheet Copper Horse, Sulky and Driver Weathervane

This item has been sold.

This is a wonderful one-of-a-kind, folk art interpretation of the late 19th Century manufactured sulky and driver weathervanes and recently pulled from a Massachusetts barn.

Made from sheet copper, copper wire and copper rod, it measures 40" long, 8 1/2" wide at the wheels and 24 1/2" tall.  The horizontal standard is 47 1/2" long.

The vane includes the original ball from the vertical standard and the solid cast iron ball used as a counter balance on the front of the horizontal standard.  Please see the accompanying photos.

The weathervane retains traces of yellow primer and original gilt.  Displayed on a contemporary museum stand.

Likely early 20th Century.

Due to the size and weight we will quote crating and shipping costs at the time of your interest.  We can offer personal delivery within 100 miles of Philadelphia and in New England in concert with our frequent travels there.
