Drumming Man Whirligig

$630.00 USD

We like this form of a uniformed man standing in front of a chair at his drum.  The uniform suggests either a fire fighter, policeman or, perhaps the Salvation Army.  The whirligig is in wood with a metal drive shaft and drum sticks and a sheet metal sail.  In the contemporary base he stands 26" tall, is 12 1/2" long and 14" wide at the propeller.

He is polychrome painted in blue, red, green and yellow with white, brown, pink and black accents for the head and face.  The turned wooden stand is in brown.

The condition is very good with no losses and no repairs.  The surface is original with minor paint loss due to age and weather.  The newer base has a repaired split and a chip.  He works quite well- a nice breeze has him rat-a-tat-tatting away.

He likely dates to the first half of the 20th Century.

An estimated $30 is included in the price to cover packing, shipping and insurance.
