Copper Hand Saw Weathervane

$1,275.00 USD

The hand saw form for weathervanes was produced by most of the commercial weathervane producers in the late 19th Century as one of the trade related forms they offered.  The maker for this vane is not known.

The saw measures 26 1/2" long and on the wall bracket is 42" tall.  The saw, shaft, and distinctive conical top piece are copper.  The wall mount includes the directionals and copper decorative orbs and contains iron sections.  The bracket is not original to the piece.

The condition is very good.  The upper portion of the shaft, above the saw, had broken and has been repaired.  The weathered verdigris surface is original.

This vane likely flew over a local carpenter's shop at the turn of the century and is a nice example of a hard-to-find tradesman's weathervane.  Ready to mount over your workshop.

An estimated $75 is included in the price to cover packing, shipping and insurance.
