Child's Step-Back Cupboard

$1,350.00 USD

This is a great example of a 19th Century child's step-back cupboard.  The wood is pine with honest construction.  The upper case has a glazed door with ship-lap construction and ogee molded trim and one fixed shelf.  The lower case has a ship-lap frame and panel door with the same molded trim.

The dimensions are a diminutive 28 1/4" tall by 13 3/4" wide and 16" deep.  A great size to keep those precious tea items for a doll's tea party.

The case has a stylized cupid's bow cutout on the two sides.

The surface is an original brown stain.  The pull knobs are porcelain.

The back is marked "GP & Co Columbus" and retains a partial paper label.

The cut nails and tapered screws date this piece to between 1850 and 1900.  The condition is "as made" with no losses and no repairs.

This is truly a sweet little chest and it is almost impossible to find them in this condition with the original surface.

An estimated $100 is included in the price to cover packing, shipping and insurance.
