A Pair of Nantucket Dewey Boys Wooden Whirligigs

$475.00 USD

These two Dewey Boys whirligigs hail from Nantucket where they were popular folk art items beginning in the late 1800s, honoring their nautical heritage.  They were also called Sailor Boys or Happy Jack.  Take your pick.

These two appear to be from the same maker and are displayed on a contemporary museum stand.  Together they measure 18 1/2" tall and 19" wide.  Individually they each measure 13 1/2" by 10".

Condition is good.  Only one "hand" or paddle survives (a red one) which is typical for these.  The dry, crusty surface is untouched.

An estimated $25 is included in the price to cover packing, shipping and insurance.
