19th Century Whirligig- Man in Red Cap

$1,270.00 USD

This early whirligig is in the form of a stern-faced man with beard, dressed in a long brown coat, vest, grey britches, black boots and a red cap.  His paddles are missing.  He stands 11 1/2" tall, 12 1/4" tall on the museum stand, with a 10" wing span.

Carved from a single piece of pine with the arms attached.

The coat and vest suggest he was a doctor, lawyer or clergyman.

The surface is original and untouched.  Condition is good.  There is paint loss consistent with age and he has a bare spot on his back.  He is displayed on a contemporary museum stand.

An estimated $20 is included in the price to cover packing, shipping and insurance.
