19th Century Pawn Shop Trade Sign

This item has been sold.

This iconic three-ball pawn shop symbol was cast in iron or zinc with included arms then mounted on a wooden backboard.  The three balls are painted gold and the backboard a smokey blue.  The wood appears to be chestnut with characteristic (but inactive) worm holes.  It measures 14 1/2" tall and 12" wide overall.

This likely graced the entrance to a Victorian pawn shop in the late 1800s.  A great small size for that already busy wall in your family room.

Condition is very good with no losses and no repairs other than paint loss to the backboard.  Some modern picture wire was added to the back to facilitate wall display.

An estimated $25 has been added to cover packing, shipping and insurance.
