Spring Antique Shows Come To An End

Our last show for the Spring Season was Antiques in the Valley, June 14th and 15th, in Oley, PA.  This was our fourth year for this nine year old show and it is one of our favorites.  The show attracts the best dealers from a dozen states in Primitives, Folk Art and Americana with a definite focus on Pennsylvania antiques.  The gate is not huge but includes very knowledgeable folks with a good collective eye for early paint and better Folk Art, Furniture and Americana.

We love the great sense of community among the dealers and serious customers.  While setting up we got a call from a customer who bought a lovely Bride's Box from us at the Madison-Bouckville (NY) show three years ago.  She was at the Ivy Hall Antique Mall in Abbottstown, PA and had interest in one of our pieces there.  She bought it, then told us she was heading for the Oley Valley Show the next day.  She stopped by our booth and showed us some wonderful pictures of their restored 1840's Ohio house which had been featured in Early American Life.  These relationships make the business truly enjoyable.

Attached below is a clipping from the Newtown Bee with a photo of our display at Oley and a few nice words about our offerings.

We will take most of the summer a little easier, mixing personal and business travel.  Our next show is Madison-Bouckville, the third weekend in August.  This is traditionally a great show for woodworking tools for us and this will be our main focus.  But, we will also bring some good Folk Art and Americana items to fill out the space.  We hope to see you there.
